This is a photograph of Kaiser Shipyards workers shown bowing their heads, possibly in prayer. During World War II, the Kaiser Shipyards included seven major shipbuilding yards located mostly on the West Coast. Four of the Kaiser Shipyards were located in Richmond, California. The employee pool at the Kaiser Shipyards included women and minorities.
