This photograph shows a line of police officers in San Francisco, California, advancing on a crowd of rioters during the 1934 West Coast Longshoremen’s Strike. This confrontation occurred the day after “Bloody Thursday.” Police used night sticks and tear gas bombs to breakup and disband the strikers.
