This postcard is advertising the Portola Festival that was held in San Francisco, California from October 19 through October 23, 1909. The Portola Festival celebrated the discovery of San Francisco Bay by Don Gaspar de Portola, and the San Francisco renaissance after the destruction of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire.
