This oil painting is of Mission Canyon, located between the city of Santa Barbara, California and the Santa Ynez Mountains. In the center of the painting is Mission Santa Barbara, the tenth mission of twenty one missions which line the California coast. Known as the “Queen of the Missions” Mission Santa Barbara is the only mission which has been occupied uninterruptedly by the Franciscan Order.
