This is a photograph of a migrant mother and her children shown sitting in a pea pickers’ camp in Nipomo, California. Famed photographer, Dorothea Lange, took this photo for the FSA (Farm Security Administration). The FSA was created in the Department of Agriculture to assist poor farmers during the Great Depression.
